How does it work?

2) Trade & Negotiate
3) Build Your Car
4) Race & Compete
Interact with other teams to trade resources. Strategy and communication are key to securing the best parts.
Work as a team to assemble your chassis, steering, and drive system. Engineering skills put into practice.
Put your creation to the test on the track. Navigate challenges and race for the top spot on the podium.

1) Get Your Parts
Start with a basic starter kit of components. You'll have enough to begin, but not enough to finish.
The Trading Challenge

More than just a race.
The Pedal Car Challenge isn't just about who crosses the finish line first. Teams start with only some of the parts they need. To get the rest, they must enter into negotiation, a high-energy environment where negotiation and strategy are as important as engineering. Groups can choose to compete with this added layer of complexity or stick to a pure building focus.

Negotiation
Learn to trade surplus parts for essential components.
Strategy
Plan which parts to acquire to gain a competitive edge.
Resource Management
Balance speed and quality with limited components.
Communication
Coordinate with teams to make mutually beneficial deals.
Note: The trading element is optional and can be adapted for younger groups or shorter sessions.

Pedal Car Challenge in Action
“We used Lemmiout Activities to organise and run our annual team building day for 120 employees. Everyone that participated enjoyed the experience and the team certainly got to know each other better. All the feedback was very positive, we can’t recommend them highly enough.”
Julian Howe. (managing director, Crouch Waterfall & partners.
“This is a valuable experience, and was presented in a very enjoyable way by Lemmiout Activities, by creating a competitive environment between groups.”
